FISCAL INITIATIVES

I have found many ways to maximize public work in a fiscally responsible and transparent way. Through my leadership, we are one of few municipal shelters that has a robust development and endowment program. This funding helps with injured animals, sterilization programs, shelter enrichment, and other programs in our community. We have also received several grants and matching donations to complete projects that could not be done within our regular budget. Through our long-range planning and investment in sustainable solutions, we have reduced shelter intake and the homeless pets in our community. This has actually saved our community money and has proven to be extremely fiscally responsible. Along with the increased donations and decreased government spending, we have saved thousands of more pets. This has been a win-win solution for every stakeholder involved.
